Yesterday we went to the opening night of Cirque de Soleil’s TORUK and I was taken to a world that could only be created in your imagination. It was amazing, to say the least.

I received tickets to attend the event, my opinions are my own.

Toruk is inspired by James Cameron’s Avatar, where a world that can only be imagined comes to life. The storytelling experience takes you to the ultimate Pandora where an enormous red and orange predator (called leonopteryx) that rules the sky and is quite an impact on the destiny of the Va’vi culture is now possibly taking their destiny to a whole new place.

The music in the show is amazing! The songstress voice is powerful and memorizing. Audibly it draws you in and makes the story more intriguing. The special effects were out of this world! I don’t even know how to explain it, its simply something you have to see for yourself. It was eye-catching with vibrant colors, motions and lights. Visually, it’s poetic. My pictures do it no justice (please note that they photos in here are stock photos, they are 10 times better than the ones that I took).

As far as kids go, I think most will be in to it. My son is up North, so my friend and her two granddaughters came, they are 8 and 9 and both loved the show! You can also download an interactive app so that you too can be part of the experience. This would definitely keep the kids interested. It runs almost 2 hours and has a 20 minute intermission.
