Ready for a girl’s night out? I have the perfect selection for you during the holiday season. You all know that I love Aurora Theatre, and the most magical time to be in the theatre is during the holiday season. There is always a cheerful play that Aurora puts on to put a smile on your face. Their Children’s Playhouse keeps the holiday magic going and for the past several years Aurora Theatre’s The 12 Dates of Christmas keeps the audience laughing! Read below for details on The 12 Dates of Christmas. I went to the show a few years a go and LOVED it! It seems as though there is a new actress each year, so definitely worth seeing again and again.

Theatergoers are invited to kick off the holiday season with festive cheer during Aurora Theatre’s annual comedy hit The 12 Dates of Christmas, November 25-December 23! Despite many mishaps thrown her way, Mary is eager to shine in the winter wonderland of dating. Audiences are invited to follow the hilarious attempts of one betrayed yet persistent woman, to see if she sticks out the single life or finds lasting love. This limited four-week engagement will ensure spirits remain high the whole month long!

The sidesplitting holiday comedy The 12 Dates of Christmas stars Renita James, Aurora Theatre’s Education Coordinator, as Mary for the second year in a row. Hysterical laughter will fill the theater with this contemporary take on the holiday season. Audiences will watch Mary’s life unravel after seeing her fiancé, live on national television, plant one wet kiss on another woman. Very determined, she spends the next year trudging her way back into dating with set ups, hook ups and let downs to test her confidence. Teens and adults are invited to enjoy this hysterical one-woman show to find out if Mary settles for single or finds the man of her dreams.

The 12 Dates of Christmas stands out as a holiday show in that it is simultaneously relatable and moving while keeping the audience cracking up,” said Megan Rose-Houchins, director of The 12 Dates of Christmas. “It revolves around a topic that everyone can connect to in a way that is appropriately crude and overwhelmingly funny. Starring a magical performer and filled with witty one-liners, it’s a show that never grows old!”

Written by American Shakespeare Center’s Ginna Hoben and directed by the talented Megan Rose-Houchins, Aurora Theatre’s funniest holiday tradition is back! This annual tradition is decked in full glory by the creative talents of Production Manager Daniel Pope on lights and sound, Andrew O’Neal as technical director, Sarah Thompson as scenic artist and multiple Suzi Award-winning duo Isabel and Moriah Curley-Clay on sets.
