Traditional dance, live music, crafts, exclusive demonstrations and more on August 6 and 7
WHO: Travel the globe without leaving Zoo Atlanta with an all-new, two-day cultural celebration at Wild World Weekend sponsored by Kaiser Permanente on Saturday and Sunday, August 6 and 7.
WHAT: The weekend-long event will showcase the dynamic cultures of Africa, Asia and the Pacific and the Americas. On Saturday, August 6, highlights will include dance and play with the Lion Dancers and Kung Fu experts of the Chien Hong School of Kung Fu; traditional African dances by Giwayen Mata; performances from Atlanta Chinese Dance Company; dance by Sanggar Lestari Indonesia; and a chance to learn new steps with ¡Flamenco! presented by Berdolé.
The fun continues on Sunday, August 7, with a Brazilian Capoeira martial arts demonstration and workshop with Cordao de Ouro Atlanta; origami and paper crafts provided by the Japan-America Society of Georgia; dance from Alma Mexicana Atlanta; and a Sushi Making 101 Demo by STEEL Restaurant & Lounge.
